Release notes

What's new in each release, newest first.

0.4.0

Search for a place or address when choosing where to start a simulation.

Double-click a camera's video to fill the window. Webcams and USB capture adapters can now record sound with the picture.

Controllers recover automatically after a browser stall or reconnection, waiting for fresh input before resuming.

On a Mac, full screen fills the display beside the camera notch. In-app updates replace the complete app.

Tab dividers now have resize grips. Double-click one to share the space equally.

0.3.0

UXDuck Desktop now downloads updates in the background and asks before installing.

Every vehicle has a new, freshly designed 3D model, and you can now fly a simulated jet. Fences show as walls on the 3D map, and V switches between viewpoints on 2D and 3D map tabs.

The keyboard can fly real vehicles too, in any flight mode. Vehicle Control is now called Cockpit.

Right-click a tab to move it to another group or split it, without dragging.

If a controller is still held by another of your windows, Take over in Controllers brings it to this one.

0.2.0

You can now open UXDuck on your phone or tablet. Turn on Settings › Connections › Phones and tablets, scan the QR code, and choose whether each phone can only watch or also fly.

Webcams, USB cameras and analog FPV capture adapters now work from the Camera tab, and keep recording with every UXDuck window closed.

Fly simulations with the keyboard from the Control tab, no gamepad needed

0.1.1

This release adds smoother controller setup and flight data over camera video. UXDuck Desktop can now open in its own window, so you can use it outside the browser.

UXDuck Core is available under Apache 2.0, with links to its source from the app and website.

There's also:

  • Plans: draw missions on the map with fences, rally points and surveys, then upload them to your vehicle
  • New 3D map views (Cockpit, Tail, Below), with a horizon and pitch ladder
  • Maps follow the vehicle on their own, and F fills the window
  • Game controllers in UXDuck Web, which keep flying through a reload
  • Find in page and pairing from the menu bar in UXDuck Desktop
  • MCP loads vehicle tools on demand, so agents use less context
